Hi,

I've been to Vodafone lately, my service provider company and the company I got this phone from, and asked them again about this issue. They said that the problem must be a corrupted software and need to "format" and re-install all. To do this, you just need to switch it off and when you switch it on again you press, together with the "ON" button, the "Vol+" button, which is found on the side of the phone. Then you just follow the instructions.

What's important is that you backup all as you will lose whatever you have on it and I suggest you also take off the sim and, if you have, the memory card too. Sometimes, re-installation might cause problems to both the sim and the memory card, if installed.

I haven't done mine as yet but will try to do it in these next couple of days!

You can't ride the same thing more than 30 years, told my grandpa as an advice for the future (it doesn't matter what you ride ...... car, bike, motorbike, woman......:))

I 'm able to see that it is too futuristic to realize the requests but I'm also able to see that the competitors of BMW are performing it (e.g. Multistrada 1200). I'm a real BMW lover and all I know is that BMW must do the change (even alone for the spirit of BMW)

p.s. also do not forget - the reason of the position of the crankshaft, i don't think that the 4 cylinders could be in longitudinal position, the centre of gravity, the thin upper shape of the bicycle/ no cylinders above/- very important for the rider's position and so on and so on. So it is not anly a nostalgic part, it is necessity!

''All this indicates to water-cooled 4-stroke in-line four-cylinder engine, two overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder ……. and not a boxer engine anymore.'' ?!?!?!?!?! Man, you are going to refuse myself to ride a motorcycle any more. For an enduro, as the 1200gs is, this technical data that you are writing for is imaginary, not reality. Please do not mix up the necked tourer with 4 cylinders, with the enduro! The aerodinamic is not the main component-to keep you from the wind is important / the gs is ok/, lighter parts sometimes means breakeble. The gs as it is now is one of the lightes bikes on the market 220kg, for rough shape - it is a personal opinion of all that milions who bought the best adventure tourer ever made.

Of course, the boxer was a very good idea because of the air cooling opportunity. The shape and the need of usage of a boxer is only appropiate for air cooling. So as a result of successful 30 years but not any more or at least not in the future. The aerodinamic is not good enough (both the engine and the trunk), the power output has to increase, a lot of parts have to be lighter for better handling (e.g. carbonfiber, not at the engine.. :) max 190 kg) and the shape should not to be so rough. All this indicates to water-cooled 4-stroke in-line four-cylinder engine, two overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder ....... and not a boxer engine anymore. İt is a very nice nostalgic part of BMW and the GS history but even BMW fans must be more realistic. Please restyle a new GS with these features asked to the authorized BMW persons..........:))

The main idea of boxer engine is that, this is the best way to cool the cylinders with air! The other good thing is the position of the crankshaft and the final lead - the cardan. If i must choose to have a boxer (water cooled) only for the final lead - NO! I have and love my boxer as it is now, no water and no chain, in other way - KTM is the escape.

I do not believe in this rumor. Just changing the engine for one with water cooling is not possible without making the bike heavier which is not an option. Therefore the frame and possibly also the front end, telelever etc.... would have to be seriously modified which would give us more or less a new new bike not an incrementally improved GS model. Besides these issues is of course that water cooling the 1200 boxer would improve at least possibly the fuel economy and the environmental performance - which probably would be nullified by increasing the power outtake.

Bottomline - there are not enough arguments for such a change.

Personally I like the big boxer as it is, air cooled. The ONLY time I ever wished I had water cooling was last summer when I got stuck in the German Autobahn for miles and miles of a veeery slooow moving traffic jam a hot summers day. I had to go in the emergynce field to keep the engine from overheating. Well, the fuzz didn't like that and fined me 100 euros :-(

So sure, bring water cooling on, there is really a big use for it.. ha ha.
